Trust and believe, the first few drafts did not navigate me to X. They were mazes and loops and were either crumpled up in frustration or burned in anger and disbelief.

It took me more than five years to get my hands on a map that navigated to X. 

The map of loss to magic. 

And the answer to my big question…? Well, that’s a long story, and the story I tell in my memoir, A Series of Surrenders. 

The short version: Our hearts break and our souls bounce. We are here to learn about love, and heartbreak has us turn up to the class and learn. Heart repair expands the capacity of the heart , which expands our soul. {not just the answer to grief and loss, the answer to all X’s}

So…I find myself at X.

After making the map and navigating it to work on my heart repair, I find myself sitting pretty in magic and back online with the universe. I met my husband, moved to the Caribbean, published my book, and started my magic biz. I sat at X with my treasures, but the journey did not feel complete.

So I asked. “Dear Universe, I’ve made it to X and I am living aligned with magic. I am curious, what is next?”

UNIVERSE: “Magic is not the destination. There is more.”

ME: “Oh, please do share.”

UNIVERSE: “It’s more than healing, it’s becoming.”

ME: “Becoming who?”

UNIVERSE: “Begin and I’ll show you the way.”

ME: “Let me guess, there’s no map.”

In the past year or so I have been deep diving into becoming. I've doubled down on intuitive listening and navigation and worked my magic in pursuit of the MORE that the universe promises. 

And here is what I have found.

Healing, or the transformation we seek, is the first summit, it is not the top. {Needs to be said, the healing and transformation never ends, it’s a spiral not a straight line}. The greater view is further up. We do not live this life to heal and that's it. We heal so we can gather strength for the next climb. 

And the becoming? It’s becoming HER, the HERoine of your story. 

As the HERoine you drive the story forward. You take full responsibility for your story (yes, everything is working out for you), and you decide which direction the narrative flows and grows. You climb.

I made it for me, and I made it as an antidote to the confusing, over-stimulated, filled with information world we live in that can create loops and mazes rather than a direct path to X. {insert: I've been trying to manifest my dreams for years and been to all the classes and read all the books, and I feel more confused and less successful. It's the beautiful blend of my 30 + years of experience in spiritual practice and storytelling, it's my magic and more.
